Gygi gets props
Hey, everyone should shop at Gygi. They are awesome!!! Let me tell you a story, Raegan and I were there earlier today and she smashed her finger pretty badly, she was VERY upset, so I promptly ended our shopping trip. As I was trying to check out with a sobbing girl the lady said, could I get her some jelly beans. I knew that would make Raeggie feel better, so I said yes. She came back with a HUGE bag of Jelly Bellys and tried to make her feel better. I like Gygi, you should too, plus the guy that works there said I look like Kelly Clarkson...so....

Hmmm.... this might get me on a terrorist hit list...
I have decided I have a jihad, or a few jihads. I googled jihad which led me to wikipedia, where I learned that one definition of jihad is, "to struggle to improve one's self and/or society". I think that is pretty appropriate.
So, here is my list of things I have a jihad against
moths
people who don't know the difference between your and you're
pieces of popcorn that get stuck in your teeth and refuse to let go
creepy polygamists (ie Warren Jeffs)
girls who want to marry Edward...umm...HE'S NOT REAL...
split ends
when people say "less is more" and have no idea what it actually means
that one sock that never can be matched
at least once a month there is some news story on how evil facebook/myspace/energy drinks are
dust
when you ask for no onions/mayo/mustard and they decide to put it on there anyway
politicians (and their wives) calling on my cell phone to remind me to vote for them
how the dog decides to go right in front of the door outside, so when the snow melts she walks through it and tracks it all over
the mustache "trend"...ew...
static in my hair
pepsi
Apple, mostly because of their snarky TV ads
our mailman...or woman, Mail should not be delivered at 7pm...
spiders
whiners

On the Radio today!!!
So I was walking out of my office last night...and I was asked if I'd be interested in hosting a radio show today. You see one of my Firm's partners has a radio show on AM 630 KTKK. He's out of town. The other guy he does a show with, can't make it in, so one of my co-workers, Nate and I, are going to be doing two hours of live radio today.
I know this is short notice, but if you're interested in hearing what I do since I left Fidelity...oops yeah...I should probably discuss that some time soon...anyway, if you want to hear what I'm doing tune in. If you're in a place where you can't tune your radio in, you can log online at http://www.k-talk.com/
It will either be informative, or entertaining...perhaps both!

Martin Luther King Day
Today is MLK day. What does that mean? Well the banks are closed, no mail, the stock market is closed (which could be a good thing for your portfolio), and you can’t go to the DMV today. Tomorrow Barack H. Obama will be inaugurated President of The United States of America, The first black President of the United States.
Yesterday there was a HUGE party in Washington D.C. celebrating the inauguration. Personally I believe this is a good thing. We should ALWAYS celebrate the peaceful transition of government. I don’t believe that as Americans we realize how rare and what a blessing this really is. You may disagree with the choice the country made, but celebrate that we were able to make that choice.
With the hundreds of thousands of people in attendance the press had a field day interviewing attendees. There seemed to be a common theme to the comments made specifically, “Isn’t it great that we elected a Black President.” My response, no…no it’s not.
Before you start thinking that it’s time I shave my head or pull out my hood from under my bed, keep in mind that I served my LDS mission in Haiti, a country that is 99.8% Black. Also I sincerely believe that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. would stand by me on this. As evidence of this let me refer to a couple of lines from Dr. King’s famous, “I have a Dream” speech.
“I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”
Agree with him, or disagree with him Barack Obama has worked hard to get where he’s at now. I can’t imagine an undertaking much more difficult than running for office. Everything about you, your family, your friends, even things you wrote in Kindergarten are held under close scrutiny. These things are analyzed, theorized, and speculated about. That says nothing to the work that he’s put in before he ever ran for office, ie community work, school etc.
To say that Barack Obama is, or will be great simply because of the color of his skin is just as racist as saying that he’s a poor President because of the same criteria. Let him lead, let him act and then judge if he’s a great President or not.
As Dr. King said, “judge…by the content of their character.” I hope Mr. Obama the best of luck. I truly do. I disagree with most his opinions on things but I hope that his presidency is successful and that he does leave the country better than when he found it.

Pretty proud of myself
Raegan is trying to get some new teeth, she has 4 to go and unfortunately they are the molars in the very back. I feel so bad for her, teething has always been rough on her, and then all of us. I was trying to get her to take some pain reliever so she could sleep the other night and she would NOT take it, I tried the liquid and the chewables, she was not having it. In the past I've tried to mix liquid in with juice or something, except if she doesn't drink it all you never know how much she got in her system, or really how she is going to feel, so I didn't like that option too much. So, I was inspired. She loves nem-nems, M&Ms to you and me. SO I took 5 or 6 of them and put them in a bowl with the chewables. She ate them right up, I was trying to be all nonchalant about it, but I was watching her slowly pick up the chewables and pop them in her mouth. She even said, yum, pink, me like pink. Ha-ha, I have her fooled at least for another day...

Ok, here's a try...
I am going to try to become more inspired and get back into blogging, so I decided to go back to my roots, my random lists...I was thinking about how I am so not a fan of girl movies, so I thought I would make a list of movies I LOVE, and would recommend to anyone!
Empire Records
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
any of the Die Hard series
Matrix series
Princess Bride (OK, so I know that is pretty much a girl movie, but I get to have one girl movie...)
Mr. and Mrs. Smith
any James Bond (except Timothy Dalton bonds, not so much of a fan of those)
ALL Pixar movies, Love them!
Lethal Weapon series
Maverick
Transformers (even after Carsen watched it 300 times)
Ocean's 11
Italian Job
Old Godzilla movies, but only if you completely make fun of them the whole time!
Rocky, and the whole series (I have recently discovered the Rocky series, thanks to Spike TV)
Rush Hour
Indiana Jones
Iron Man
Days of Thunder (even though Tom Cruise is in it...)
Steel Magnolias (OK, so I get 2 girl movies)
Drop Dead Gorgeous
Goonies
Sneakers
Back to the Future
Groundhog Day
Breakfast Club
Grumpy Old Men
Karate Kid
Forrest Gump
I know there are more, but, this is a pretty good list so far!

To blog or not to blog...
I have been having a hard time the past month or so getting back on the blogging bandwagon, maybe my sense of humor is wearing thin, maybe it is the short days of winter, or maybe I am just burned out. I am not sure which, but I will try to remedy the situation. Hope everyone is having a Happy New Year!
